Curtin Humanities encompasses 3 Schools: School of Design and the Built Environment, School of Education, and School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry.

Animation & Game Design Major (B.Arts)

Duration: 3 Years Intakes: Feb, Jul

The course lets you specialise in the engaging area of visual narrative communication, which includes animation design and development, and game design and development.

You will learn and apply the theory and fundamentals behind visual narrative construction by investigating 2D and 3D animation, visual effects production and game design, and developing immersive, virtual world designs. You will also gain experience using up-to-date industry standard software in simulated studio environments.
This major has strong connections to local, national and international animation and video game development industries.

Animation and Game Design is offered as part of the Bachelor of Design. You can enhance your studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support your career goals

Professional accreditation/recognition
Graduates may convert student memberships of national professional design bodies, such as the Design Institute of Australia, into full professional memberships following qualification and professional experience.

Advertising & Creative Advertising Graphic Design Double Major (B.Com)

Duration: 3 Years , Intakes: Feb, Jul

In this double major you’ll gain insight and appreciation for the creative elements of advertising and learn how to effectively apply these to marketing communications and advertising industries. You’ll be given the opportunity to refine your specialisation by collaborating with students in areas such as art, film and TV, multimedia, internet studies and interior architecture.

As a Curtin Business School student you will have opportunities to connect with successful business and community leaders, with the potential to enhance your professional prospects.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia has partnered with Curtin Business School (CBS) to offer internships to students who have completed 200 credits or more of their business degree. These business internships will not only give students credit towards their degree, they will receive the industry experience and practical skills.

Professional accreditation/recognition
You can apply for membership of a range of professional bodies such as the Australian Institute of Management (AIM), the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI), the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPPA), the Marketing Research Institute of Australia and the Professional Sales and Marketing Institute.
