What is a UniPathway?

TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA) is the registered training organisation (RTO) and Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provider, for the delivery of training to international students, enrolled in TAFE courses in Western Australia. These nationally recognised courses are delivered by Western Australian TAFE colleges on TIWA’s behalf. TIWA retains responsibility for the quality of the training and assessment delivered by the TAFE colleges and for the issue of certification documentation to students.

If you would like to study a university degree, and don’t have the academic requirements, then a TIWA UniPathway can help you reach your education goals.

How does it work?

TIWA has a number of diploma and advanced diploma courses  that can be packaged with bachelor degrees. If eligible, you will  receive two offers – from TIWA and from your chosen university.  UniPathways allow you to have a planned pathway for study  at VET and university level. On completion of your TAFE and  university studies, you will have two qualifications that will give  you a competitive edge in the global job market. Some courses at  TAFE have a strong practical component, which is in high industry  demand.

The Certificate III in Commercial Cookery course teaches you the practical skills and knowledge to be able to plan, organise, prepare and cook food in a range of commercial work spaces including restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. You will learn how to produce dishes that are suitable for different cultural and dietary requirements, ensuring food safety and kitchen hygiene and workplace health and safety standards are maintained.

The Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery provides you with the advanced skills to be able to work as a Supervisor/ Team Leader Cook in a range of commercial kitchens.

The Certificate IV in Hospitality is a practical course where you learn skills of hospitality, restaurant service, barista, bar service, customer service and events management. The course enables you to learn in simulated work environments such as cafes and restaurants located on our campuses.

The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality teaches you strong practical skills and leadership capabilities to manage diverse teams within the hospitality industry. Your will learn how to recruit and induct staff, manage staff performance, manage assets, coordinate in-house events and manage budgets.

Advanced Diploma of Accounting prepares you to find specialist job roles in the financial services industry such as financial and cost management accountants, tax agents, assistant accountants, office managers, auditors and payroll service providers. You will graduate with high-level training and work-ready skills that will advance your career when you enter the workforce. 

The Diploma of Marketing and Communication teaches a range of strategic marketing and communication skills. You will undertake research for target markets and promote, produce and develop a marketing plan for direct and e-marketing opportunities. You will learn the principles of market research in order for you to interpret customer needs and implement a successful marketing program. You will also gain social media skills to highlight and communicate the products and services of a business to the wider community.

The Diploma of Business expands your business, management and communication skills to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues. You will undertake a real life project, manage meetings, lead teams, plan and implement an administrative system, manage and evaluate a knowledge system, develop workplace policies and procedures for sustainability, manage recruitment, selection and induction processes and manage budgets and financial plans. This course is currently being superseded with an updated version. You can still enrol in this course, however, you will be contacted if you need to transition into the next version when it is available.
