Bachelor of Design (Architecture)
The Bachelor of Design (Architecture) engages with the rich and diverse discipline of architecture. As the undergraduate portion of an accredited programme the course prepares the foundation for further study whilst developing your skills to create meaningful, sustainable and stimulating built environments.
The course integrates multiple creative and technical fields as well as skillsets that examine and shape the places we inhabit, through all building types, spaces and locations. You’ll explore architectural ideas through cutting edge content, research and a global perspective – gaining practical knowledge studying real-world projects and developing your ability to generate, analyse and communicate your own ideas. You will produce design concepts whilst being challenged to explore architectural history and philosophy, building science and the environment, construction technologies, computer-aided modelling, drawing, model making and digital fabrications.
Professional accreditation
Upon successful completion of the Master of Architecture, this program is accredited by the Board of Architects Malaysia (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia) and (within Australia) by the Australian Institute of Architects, the Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV) and the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA).
Master of Architecture
Master of Architecture The Master of Architecture develops your skills and knowledge in architectural design research and resolution, urban ecologies and contexts, integrated project evaluation and performance-measured sustainable design. All of these are expected in modern professional practice.
You’ll also undertake advanced studies in cultural, technological, design, environmental and theoretical knowledge. Plus, you’ll study the ethical, evaluative and research frameworks which underpin the architecture field.
Deakin’s Master of Architecture is professionally accredited within Australia by the Australian Institute of Architects, the Architects Registration Board of Victoria and the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia. This lets you to achieve your professional registration, taking your career one step further.
