Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours)
Duration: 5 Years

The Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) is a 5 year program that will teach you how to prevent, diagnose and treat oral diseases and abnormalities. It's also the only AQF Level 8 undergraduate dental program in Australia.
Complete supervised clinical practice as you learn about general practice dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral medicine, public health and more, in a range of settings including UQ's $138 million Oral Health Centre.

Bachelor of Health Sciences
Duration: 3 Years

The Bachelor of Health Sciences is a three-year program that provides a comprehensive overview of health and health care, including biomedicine, healthcare ethics, public health, psychology and nutrition. Receive a solid foundation that will allow you to move into a clinical or non-clinical career. This is an excellent pathway into postgraduate health programs, including medicine.
Choose to major in Health Promotion, Nutrition, or Public Health. You will study a range of specialised courses during your second and third year, and will also undertake health and management-related electives. Get hands-on experience, integrate your knowledge and develop key professional skills in a busy health setting as you undertake supervised work experience in your final year.
Master of Mental Health
Duration: 1.5 Years Intakes: Feb
The Master of Mental Health is designed for applicants with an approved degree and relevant work experience. There are several ways of meeting admission requirements – see Program Details for more information. Choose to specialise in Art Therapy or Psychotherapy. You will learn how to support mental health through different techniques relevant to your chosen field.
Complete courses that will build and extend your knowledge and skills in mental health practice. Throughout the program, you'll also spend 800 hours in an appropriate practice environment, which can include your current workplace. Benefit from a program taught by both experienced practitioners and researchers. Many of our lecturers have national or international reputations for their scholarship and professional practice, which they have incorporated into the program.
Master of Health Economics
Duration: 2 Years
Intakes: Feb, Jul
This program provides graduate training in all aspects of health economics, meeting the clear need for comprehensive programs in Australia and internationally. A joint initiative of UQ's School of Economics and School of Population Health, this program is designed for people intending to work in the health sector. No prior knowledge or training in economics is required for this program. The program offers students the opportunity to develop strong analytical skills and is a qualification which may further career opportunities in national and international health agencies.
This highly specialised program provides critical insight into the complex economic issues in health sector administration, and the economic impacts of decisions. Students may take elective courses in analytical techniques, including applied econometrics, public economics, health finance, epidemiology, business and economic decision techniques, benefit-cost analysis, and health and development.
Master of Public Health
Duration: 1.5 YearsIntakes: Feb, Jul
The Master of Public Health is an interdisciplinary program that teaches courses relevant to public health practice and research. There are several ways of meeting admission requirements. Benefit from a program that is evidence-based and comprehensive, and reflects UQ's strong links with organisations such as Australian Aid, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and international ministries of health.
Choose one field of study from six different options. In each field, you'll complete a range of core courses, specialist courses and electives to build and extend your knowledge. For details, see the Fields of study tab. Undertake a research project that addresses a specific topic or problem relevant to public health. You'll be involved in all aspects of research, from defining a topic and methodology to interpreting results and reporting on your findings.
