UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES

Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology

Duration: 3 Years Intakes: Feb, Jul Fees: NZ$29,500*/year

Lincoln University's specialist Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology degree prepares graduates for a great career in the wine sector.

The core of the degree covers basic science preparation through to advanced viticulture and wine science, pest and disease management, biometrics and wine chemistry. You can then tailor the rest of your degree using electives to fit your areas of interest and individual career aspirations.

A period of Practical Work is a requirement of this qualification.

Bachelor of Agricultural Science

Duration: 4 Years Intakes: Feb, Jul Fees: NZ$29,500*/year

this degree addresses the demands for farmers and primary producers to meet the requirements of international markets, including the European Union's expectation for food to be traceable from paddock to plate.

Lincoln has played a fundamental role in training managers, researchers, consultants and employees in the agricultural sector for 140 years. Our graduates have a reputation for hitting the ground running because our qualifications are applied and relevant.

The Bachelor of Agricultural Science can be awarded with Honours. This pathway is open to students who have completed their 6th semester (normally 3rd year) of study (with requirements).

A 28 Weeks period in total of Practical Work is a requirement of this qualification.

Bachelor of Science

Duration: 3 Years Intakes: Feb, Jul Fees: NZ$29,000*/year

This programme is applied and context-based, graduates will have a firm grounding in the basic sciences. These can be applied to processes in the environment, in ecosystems and biota or at the molecular level; helping you contribute to sustainable management and conservation of land, water and air and the country's abundant natural resources.

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

Master of Precision Agriculture

Duration: 18 Months Intakes: Feb (2021) Fees: TBC

The Master of Precision Agriculture will provide technical leaders for the agriculture and food and fibre industries and large agricultural or food-related organisations including processors and wholesalers, by training postgraduates who will become managers, data-driven scientists, consultants, farmers, sustainable production managers and strategic managers.

Lincoln University is unlocking the power of the land with Aotearoa New Zealand and with international partners to increase productivity, reduce environmental footprints and embrace the whole value chain from soil to fork.

Part of that journey will be an ever-increasing use of digital technologies in monitoring, decision making, operating and managing the primary production systems of a fast growing bio-economy. Digital-based agricultural production systems are different to the current mainstream approaches.

Master of Management in Agricultural Systems

Duration: 12 Months Intakes: Feb, Jul Fees: NZ$40,000*/year

This is a one year master targeted at creating world-leading food scientists. Focus on food composition, quality, processing, innovation, marketing and human nutrition.

Master of Wine and Viticulture

This master will provide graduates with the knowledge and skills to successfully develop fulfilling careers anywhere in the world. Students will have the hands-on skills to secure management roles and be in a position to help enhance the value of the wine sector.

This comprehensive programme includes both grape-growing and winemaking as well as essential business knowledge to develop career prospects across every area of the industry.
