Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical and Mechatronic)

Duration: 4 Years Fees: A$34,400* /year Intakes: Feb, Jul

Mechanical engineering is a diverse field that can be applied right across industry – from robotics and automation to manufacturing, automotive and energy. This degree captures that diversity, integrating mechanical engineering with computing, control, automation and actuation.

In this degree you will apply engineering theory to real-world challenges. You will work on a major industry project in your final year, and study advanced courses in mechatronics. As well as a 12-week work placement, there will be lots of opportunities to learn by practical example, with guest lecturers from industry, simulated business environments and site visits to industrial facilities.

You'll also work on the UniSA entry in the Warman Design and Build Competition, applying hands-on skills and knowledge to a complex design project. This is an Asia Pacific-wide competition, open to students in mechanical engineering who are in their first or second year of study.

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical and Electronic)

Duration: 4 Years Fees: A$34,400* /year Intakes: Feb, Jul

Position yourself at the forefront of technology, with a popular degree that gives you a broad range of career options. Electrical engineers focus on energy and information, designing and operating devices, equipment, technology, services and systems.

You will apply engineering theory to real-world challenges, becoming skilled in electrical generation systems; renewable energy sources; electric and autonomous vehicles; and robotics and consumer products. As well as a 12-week work placement, there will be lots of opportunities to learn by practical example, with guest lecturers from industry, simulated business environments and site visits to industrial facilities.

At least half of the honours year involves a major project. Armed with new knowledge and skills, using the latest design tools, and mentored by engineering academic staff, our honours students develop innovative products to advance technology. Recently for example, students worked on an instrumented rowing simulator for elite athletes.

Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics (Honours)

Duration: 4 Years Fees: A$32,000* /year Intakes: Feb, Jul

In this degree you will develop the knowledge and skills to work professionally in quantity or building surveying. Your studies will focus on quantity surveying, construction management, building technology, building structures, building surveying and housing studies.

You will also gain valuable experience in a real-world workplace, with a minimum of 100 days supervised industrial experience.

UniSA is SA's no. 1 university for research in Environmental Sciences and is the only university in SA to have all its assessed Environmental Sciences research rated well-above world standard. This degree has a strong connection with the Barbara Hardy Institute and its researchers. They conduct high quality research in the fields of urban ecology and sustainability. These leading researchers will be your teachers, and everything you learn will be informed by their research excellence.

Bachelor of Mathematics Industrial and Applied Mathematics

Duration: 3 Years Fees: A$32,000* /year Intakes: Feb, Jul

Mathematics can open doors to a wide range of careers as new and improved solutions are sought to societal challenges. Employers are increasingly looking to quantify and understand data. You will develop the analytical and problem-solving skills to play a valuable role in the growth of society.

You will develop sound knowledge in applied mathematics. Because this degree is diverse and flexible, you’ll also explore the relationship and application of mathematics to other areas such as physics, engineering, information technology and biology.

In 1st year you'll study core subjects in mathematics and IT. You will focus on building your mathematical and programming skills with courses that include calculus, statistical methods, fundamentals of programming, and databases.

You will study multi-disciplinary areas such as mathematical modelling, data collection and analysis, numerical analysis, and the implementation of computer-driven solutions. You can also choose to study a minor in Information Technology.

In your final year you will take part in the Maths Clinic program. In Maths Clinic a team of students, supported by a faculty supervisor, works on a problem in close consultation with an industry partner. This will strengthen your abilities in research, analysis, and interpretation of data.

Bachelor of Aviation (Management)

Duration: 3 Years Fees: A$34,100* /year Intakes: Feb, Jul

This degree focuses on airline and airport management, aviation finance and marketing, safety management, and aviation law in Australia and internationally.

UniSA works in close partnership with industry so you will learn from leaders in the field of aviation.

You will commence your studies with an introduction to aviation, aviation management and safety. There are also courses in professional and technical communication, and human factors. You’ll even have the chance to spend a semester flying in our simulators to understand the pilot side of aviation.

As your studies progress you will explore aviation law, finance, economics and marketing; airline operations management; airport, project and strategic management; and risk and safety systems. You’ll also study leadership, and communications and research methods.

You will study one elective from any of the University of South Australia electives, and one from the Bachelor of Aviation (Flight) degree or other aviation-related electives.

Bachelor of Aviation (Flight)

Duration: 3 Years Fees: A$34,100* /year Intakes: Feb, Jul

The Bachelor of Aviation (Flight) provides a great foundation in the field of aviation practical flight experience. Whilst some airlines prefer you to have a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), other airlines prefer to train you fully via a pilot cadetship program.

The flight training component is offered in your first year of study through an elective course, Flight Experience. In this course you will log approximately 15-20 hours of dual flight time in a single engine airplane with the possibility of a solo flight for those who meet the competencies. Flight training is offered by our partner Flight Training Adelaide (FTA).

In your studies you will also learn aerodynamics, meteorology, navigation and flight planning in ultra-modern facilities.We work in close partnership with industry to ensure you will graduate ready to meet the growing global demand for pilots.

As your studies progress you will explore more advanced and theoretical areas including meteorology, law, human factors and aspects of the flight and performance of large aircraft systems. You will also study communication and aviation management. Your technical studies will include aerodynamics, heavy aircraft systems, navigation and risk and safety management.

Flight Experience is part of this degree.
