Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)
Graduate as a Registered Pharmacist, equipped to prepare, supply and monitor medicines. Benefit from over 50 years' experience in delivering education in pharmacy. Gain practical experience in our on-campus, purpose-built Pharmacy Laboratory and Model Pharmacy. Study in the University’s new A$247 million Health Innovation Building and complete field placements in community and hospital-based pharmacy settings.
Placement & Accreditation
Students will take up to a total number of 320 hours placements in the duration of the program, including 1 hospital (6 weeks) /1 community (6 weeks). This program is accredited by the Pharmacy Board of Australia , the professional placements have to be done in Australia. UniSA's Clinical Placement Unit provides the administrative function for student placements.
Global Recognition
This program is recognised by both Malaysia Pharmacy Board and Singapore Pharmacy Council .
Double Degree
Students who commence either the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (IBPA) or the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) (IHPC) may be eligible to enter a double degree. Eligibility is dependent on academic performance during the first 2 years of study in either program.
Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science
Pharmaceutical scientists are the drug experts within the commercial, research and drug regulatory environments. Enjoy diverse employment in the rapidly expanding pharmaceutical industry. Work in areas such as drug discovery and development, manufacturing and production, and pharmaceutical sales, marketing and management. Gain practical experience in the purpose-built chemistry and pharmacy laboratories.
Complete an industry project or placement relating to an area of interest. With an additional 2 years of study and 1 year of onsite training, a pharmaceutical scientist has the opportunity to become a registered pharmacist.
Professional Recognition
Graduates may apply for the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) and other relevant professional bodies such as AusBiotech .

Bachelor of Nutrition and Food Sciences
This degree prepares you for a career in the health and food industry, where you will be involved in developing innovative foods, promoting and managing diets and lifestyles, and conducting research for enhanced wellbeing. UniSA campus facilities are state-of-the-art, there's a dedicated nutrition and food science hub that is home to a $1 million commercial kitchen, sensory laboratory (one of the few in Australia) and microbiology laboratory.
Professional Recognition
Graduates of the program are eligible to apply for professional membership of the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology (AIFST), and eligible to apply to the Nutrition Society of Australia for registration as an Associate Nutritionist (ANutr).
Real-world connections
You will be required to attend field trips to some of the state's major nutrition and food providers as part of your studies – this glimpse into the food and nutrition world is a great opportunity for you to build industry relationships. You may visit organisations that manufacture spreads and dips, beverages such as beer and wine, as well as Australian native food bush tucker farms, and aged care facilities, focusing on food safety and food modifications for the elderly.
Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine (Honours)
Studying the only degree in SA accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) will see you graduate with the knowledge and skills to enter the exciting world of diagnostic pathology, or research. Your work having a vital bearing on the welfare of patients, supporting clinicians in the diagnosis, management and treatment of disease, conducting research into causes and cures of disease, and developing improved methods for disease detection. Students can undertake clinical placement in public and private pathology in metropolitan and regional locations, as well as veterinary, forensic science and translational research laboratories.
Professional accreditation & Recognition
Fully accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS), and graduates are entitled to Graduate Membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists, Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists (AACB) and the Australian Society for Microbiology (ASM).

The honours component of this degree focuses higher level studies which includes research training. Practical field placements are a great opportunity for you to begin to build your network of industry contacts. You will also work alongside experienced researchers when you complete research preparation and project courses during your final year. Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging)
Medical imaging professionals (diagnostic radiographers) are responsible for producing high quality medical images using various technologies and types of radiation to monitor and diagnose injuries and illnesses. Their work includes general radiography such as x-rays, fluoroscopy, theatre or emergency imaging.
As a medical imaging student, you will learn in fully functioning x-ray suites on-campus, where you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience. Further practical experience is gained during over 1,750 hours of clinical placements, complemented by an in-depth theoretical component taught by our award-winning teachers.
Professional accreditation & Recognition
Graduates are eligible to apply for general registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA).
