Studying abroad is a big decision to make, but it's even more difficult when you have to choose from popular study destinations like Australia, and the UK. These countries are home to some of the highest-ranked universities in the world. They're so popular for international students because of the quality of life and job opportunities they provide. The best way to choose the perfect destination matching your interests is to consider the factors that make each country different, such as the quality and cost of education, future employment prospects, availability of financial aid, and more.

Education system

Despite having a population of just over 24 million people, Australia offers a considerable number of world-class universities and colleges. An Australian degree is highly appreciated around the world, with a clear structure of recognized certifications and a reputation for good teaching and high research standards. One of the numerous reasons why students from all over the world choose to study in Australia is that it is regarded as a global leader in education.

The United Kingdom has a long history of academic excellence and a blend of high-tech modern university teachings. Throughout England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, universities, and colleges range from old red-brick universities that have taught for hundreds of years to modern, cutting-edge universities and colleges. Its outstanding research reputation draws post-graduate students from all over the world, and the education programme boasts a long history of educating the world's best leaders, intellectuals, and artists.

Cost of studying

The average annual tuition charge for overseas undergraduates and postgraduates studying in Australia is AUD $30,840 and $31,596, respectively. A master's degree in Australia costs between AUD $20,000 and $37,000. A doctoral degree costs between AUD$14,000 and $37,000. The cost of a degree varies depending on the course you choose.

Tuition fees to study in the United Kingdom vary based on the institution and the degree. The annual tuition fees for international graduates and postgraduates may range from £10,000 to £38,000 and £11,000 to £32,000, respectively.

Part-time work options

Students with a student visa are permitted to work in Australia. Students are allowed to work full-time during holidays and up to 40 hours per fortnight while studying. Part-time employment is easy to come by in Australia, and they might help you cover your living expenses. In addition, Australia is one of the few countries that offers skilled migrant programmes aimed at students with abilities, skills, and education certifications who can contribute to Australia's economy.

Students in the United Kingdom are permitted to work for 20 hours per week over the length of their studies, and they can readily find part-time jobs to supplement their income. In comparison to Australia, getting a job or a work permit to stay in the UK may be more challenging. British degrees, on the other hand, are respected and esteemed all over the world, particularly in the Middle East and India. This enables students to find work in a variety of nations throughout the world.

Post-study work rights

In Australia, international students can stay in the country for 2 to 4 years after graduation to travel, work, or study. The length of stay varies with the level of qualification that you obtain — 2 years for a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree, 3 years for a research qualification, and up to 4 years after completing a doctoral degree. During your stay, you are expected to find your own employment.

The United Kingdom offers international students who have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the UK two-year Graduate route visas. If the student has a Ph.D., then they can apply for three-year visas. These visas are not extendable, so international students are allowed to apply for different UK visas such as Skilled Worker Visa when it expires. Students should be in the UK when submitting an application, and you will need to pay the application fee of £700 in addition to the healthcare surcharge of £624
